Just a handful of my favourite moments!
In the hope of sorting my life out I had a meeting with my careers adviser this morning who was
asking me about what I wanted to do and where I wanted to do. As nice as having a proper job, mortgage and a dog sounds, I just want to travel. And here are some of my favorite moments from my last trip that have made travelling just so hard to let go of...
Number 1 Climbing Mount Roy, New Zealand
By far the most physically exhausting thing I've ever done, my legs were not 'normal' for a good two weeks after this. Saying that I would sacrifice aching legs again if I got to experience this view and the atmosphere again, I felt like I had climbed Everest! Absolute highlight of New Zealand without a doubt.
Number 2 Koh Tao, Thailand
Possibly the closest thing to heaven on earth, this place literally shitted all over Bali, and that is an understatement. The beaches are something you daydream at you desk about on a cold British morning. You can laze around the beaches, learn to dive, party as hard as you want, eat incredible food and hang out with the most chilled people in Thailand, is there anything you could want? Oh and the sunsets, you haven't lived unless you've watched a sunset from Sairee Beach.

Number 3 Meeting real life elephants in Chiang Mai
I got to spend the day interacting with some of the most beautiful animals in the world, not something that will ever sit lightly with me! When I first walked over the top of the hill with our group I did not know what to do. It sounds really cliche but I was in shock, they are crazy big and it took a good 15 minutes before I could actually approach one, I couldn't stop watching them! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
Feeding my new friend corn
Number 4 Hoi An, Vietnam
Possibly one of the most romantic towns in the world. I could have spent so much more time in this stunning little place. Originally a fishing village, now it is most known for its hundreds of tailors, which we took advantage of! We stayed in a little home stay across the river, and I have never felt more calm and peaceful than cycling along the river on a cranky old bike with no brakes, in my new hand made dress, with a bowl full of noodles in my stomach and my best friend cycling by my side. Heavenly.

So much choice
Number 5 Biking up Bokor Mountain, Cambodia
By the time we had got to Cambodia we had already had a few successful attempts at riding mopeds (much to the despair of our mothers!!) and after the suggestion from my boyfriend who said his favourite day of his travels was biking up the mountain we just had to do it! We weren't disappointed! The views were stunning, the road was smooth and there was hardly any traffic, perfection!
George and Kat looking at the massive Buddha
The abandoned hotel, seriously creepy. Unfortunately we turned up at the same time as a coach, the only coach we had seen all day, brilliant timing as always!
You can almost see the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc on the horizon
Heading back to the fabulous Mad Monkey hostel in the lovely town of Kampot
Number 6 Angkor Wat, Cambodia
Couldn't really do this list and not include Angkor Wat could I? One of the most iconic sights in South East Asia, and definitely one of the most breath taking. Waking up before sunrise doesn't feel incredible at the time, but once we were in the tuk tuk we were both so excited. Don't underestimate how huge this place actually, we had a full day and didn't see even half of the temples and watch out for the butterflies, they really are everywhere!

Number 7 Wat Pho, Bangkok
The giant gold reclining Buddha of Wat Pho has been on my bucket list for longer than I can remember. Little did I know this massive complex would have so much more to offer. The sparkly mosaics roofs were one of my favourite aspects of this place. If you're in Bangkok, grab a map (we didn't and got lost for FOUR HOURS in 40'c+ heat) and head over there!
Number 8 Bay of Islands, New Zealand
This place has a lot of sentimental meaning for me as it was where me and boyfriend met up after being apart for 6 months, but it honestly is stunning. We arrived just in time the cyclone that has destroyed many of the smaller south pacific islands, but luckily we had a good day and half of beautiful weather. Along with our two friends we booked to go on a day sailing around the islands, such a peaceful way to see such a naturally perfect part of the world. We jumped off the yacht and swam over to the beach where we climbed to the top of the island, the view is still one of my favourites. We snorkelled with a sting ray and on the way back we were joined by a pod of dolphins, seriously I felt like someone was looking over us to ensure that we had the most magical weekend!

At the top of Waewaetorea island, these photos haven't been retouched at all! It really is this unreal
Number 9 Koh Lanta, Thailand
If you want to chill out away from the typical type of Thailand holiday 'meatheads' this is where you need to go. Super quiet, super beautiful, pretty sure we could have stayed a lot longer. This is the first place where we hired mopeds for the day and it was terrifying! We travelled from one side of the island to the other, past millions of palm trees, golden beaches and tiny villages. So picturesque and it is so different from the islands of Phuket, Koh PhiPhi and Koh Phangan. I've got a horrible feeling that it won't stay this quiet forever though.
The view I was dreaming of when I was working saving up to go travelling
Koh Lanta Night Market is a must, this guy cooked some of the best food we ate on our trip
Number 10 Milford Sound, New Zealand
I'm not sure whether it was the dramatic journey through some of the most beautiful landscape that exists or whether is was the actual boat trip across the sound, this day was 100% mind blowing.
We were staying in Queenstown when we visited Milford Sound, sure it doesn't look far on the map but there are no direct roads, the only way is around the mountains. We paid a little more for a coach with a glass roof which I was quite dubious about, but you drive right underneath snow capped mountains and with the glass roof you get to see everything, well worth the extra few dollars!
Everyone we met had said how it ALWAYS rains on the sound and how we needed to make sure we had lots of waterproofs with us, but yet again someone was watching over us and the weather was perfect. The mountains again the clear blue skies were breathtaking and that day was one of the main reasons I fell so in love with New Zealand!
The coach journey to Milford Sound
You can't really get much more dramatic than this
