Life Update: A Crazy Summer

Wednesday, 27 September 2017

I honestly have no idea where the past few months gone! So much has changed over the past few months, the summer has been super busy so I think it's time for a life update!

I finally bought my first car!

Finally after pretty much six months of looking I found my dream car - it was definitely worth the wait. I am so indecisive and just wanted to pick the perfect car, I was so aware of things going wrong, being ripped off or just regretting my decision a few months down the line I really couldn't set my heart on anything, but then it all changed when I found my little Christian Grey (the name was initially a joke but it's stuck now ha!).

Super busy wedding season!
I'm an Event Manager so summer is always a pretty busy time of year and this year was no exception. It has been a very tiring season that is only just beginning to wind down but there were so many pinch yourself moments! And SO many beautiful weddings each completely different to the next.

Trip of a lifetime to India!

In May we took a two week holiday to India. Having wanting to visit India for as long as I can remember (I have been obsessed with Bollywood films since I was around 12 /13), it was just always a place that I NEEDED to visit! My housemate from uni, Gauri, was getting married and we were kindly invited! Honestly I can say it was one of the best experiences of my life so far! Just wish we could do it all over again! I have lots of photos and few posts to catch up on all about our magical trip.

No more long distance!
As of the 10th of August me and Sam live in the same county! After 3 long years of travelling across the country most weekends to visit each other Sam finally took the plunge, left his previous job and started a new job/life in the South West with me - how romantic is that! Seriously feel so lucky that he was willing to make such a massive sacrifice. We have now been living together for almost two months and it is honestly the best decision we have ever made.

I ran a Half Marathon!
In a bit of a slightly tipsy/crazy moment earlier in the year I decided that I wanted to run the Bristol Half Marathon! I have always ran fairly regularly and a half marathon has been on my radar for a number of years but sometimes you just need something to push you. In March last year my best friend lost her boyfriend suddenly and completely unexpectedly. So I ran in his memory raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young, a charity who supports the families of the victims of SAD (Sudden Adult Death) and also helps to screen people in the hope of stopping the unthinkable. I am so chuffed to raised almost £300 for them! So two weeks ago, we woke up and ran 13.1 miles, but of course it wasn't that easy we had spent months preparing ourselves with regular runs each week - seriously though the sense of achievement we all felt when we crossed the finishing line was like nothing else I had experienced! Well and truly ticked off my bucket list!

October...
Can you believe we're almost in October already? There is so much to look forward to in the next couple of weeks; I have a very exciting work project next weekend, we are attending Sam's friends wedding then we are off on mini Italian road trip - we are all booked and ready to go, just show me the pizza...and prosecco!
