4 Reasons Why Vietnam Should Be On Your Bucketlist

Saturday, 7 April 2018

Forget Thailand, Vietnam in my opinion is one of the most exciting destinations to visit in South East Asia.
Here are just a few reasons why you should visit...

1. The beautiful city of Hanoi

After spending a month in Thailand I really wasn't sure what to expect of Vietnam, one things for sure they are two completely different countries. The French influence particularly in Hanoi is still live and strong, many of the streets reminded me of wandering through the streets of Paris albeit a little busier and crazier!
We stayed in the old quarter which I would strongly recommend, we were just a thirty second walk from the amazing Beer Corner, which does exactly as it says! But be aware this quarter is an absolute maze with each street intertwining into the next, each lined with a variety of clothes shops, bars and of course travel agents!

2. Halong Bay

I imagine this one is already on quite a lot of bucketlists, but quite rightly so! Spending the day and evening floating through Halong Bay was one of my highlights from our four month trip. Waking up to look out of the cabin window to see the islands and the bluey green water was priceless.

3. The tailors of Hoi An

Hoi An is one of most romantic places I've ever visited, but that alone isn't the only thing this town has going for it. It is famous for it's tailors.

4. The food and drink

Pho, fresh spring rolls and seriously cheap beer what's not to love?! Be prepared to come back a few pounds heavier!
