London Bucketlist: Sky Garden

Tuesday, 11 April 2017

A trip to the Sky Garden should be on every London tourist's agenda - as long as you aren't afraid of a little height!
At the top of 20 Fenchurch Street aka the walkie talkie, lies the infamous Sky Garden, at 155 metres it offers a unique sky bar meets inside garden experience.

Stepping out of the lift at the 35th floor the huge floor to ceiling window panes are instantly breathtaking. The whole room, if you can call it that, has a really chilled vibe, looking down over the bustling city below.

Out on the balcony you can really get a feel for just how high this building actually is. It also curves slightly, giving you incredible panoramic views of the whole city. We were seriously lucky that the day we chose to visit (my birthday) also happened to be the hottest and sunniest day of the year so far.

Back inside the gardens are simple yet beautiful and fit perfectly with the architecture. I know that many critics believe that naming it the Sky Garden was slightly misleading, but to be perfectly honest I think that most people visit for the views, not necessarily the plant life.

So much classier than your average sky bar.

I would totally recommend the Sky Garden if you're looking for a relaxed couple of hours admiring London's landscape from above.

If you want to visit the Sky Garden tickets are free and must be applied for here on their website.
I believe that new tickets are released every 3 weeks.
Time slots get booked up really quickly even during the week, so I would strongly suggest booking in advance.
